Southwest Symphony was founded in 1984 to fulfill a need created by the suspension of the Community Concert Series in Hobbs, NM. From its inception the Symphony has strived to bring a variety of music and dance programs to the citizens of Southeastern New Mexico. Each season Southwest Symphony presents classical and pops concerts performed by Southwest Symphony Orchestra. Additionally, the Symphony acts as a presenter to bring performances that include a variety of music and dance genres.
MISSION
The mission of Southwest Symphony is to present and promote music programs of the highest artistic quality for the region's enrichment. It is our aim to promote the arts and to be a cultural resource for Southeastern New Mexico.
VISION
Southwest Symphony’s vision is to foster the availability of music in the general public and school arenas. Southwest Symphony collaborates with foundations, state and local government, and private corporations and businesses in the region by performance, education and community engagement.
