SWS Orchestra will proudly present its Youth Series Concerts bringing in over 2,300 Lea County 4th and 5th graders over a two-day period for an educational/firsthand experience with our musicians. There will also be an evening concert for the public as well as a day of rehearsals for the orchestra. The featured presentation is an orchestration of the award-winning book “The Remarkable Farkle McBride” written by actor/author John Lithgow.

With eight GRAMMY nominations and three Latin GRAMMY nominations, the ensemble continues to expand the scope of mariachi music, delighting audiences from around the world. Founded in 1999 by musical director and trumpet player Cindy Shea, Mariachi Divas is celebrated for its innovative and eclectic array of music ranging from mariachi classics to jazz and pop. Mariachi Divas is known for its sophisticated, smooth, and refined, elegant musical style. With an established recording track record, their discography includes twenty-one professional full-length album releases produced and directed by founder and trumpet player Cindy Shea.

of the 50 US states and in England, Spain, China among others. This performance includes the concert, a symposium of the creative process and dessert reception.

Farewell Angelina will perform at the Lea County Event Center, in Hobbs, NM. This all-female country band is on a fast track to “celebrity” success. Southwest Symphony Chamber Orchestra

The Southwest Symphony Chamber Orchestra will be at Tydings Auditorium in Hobbs, NM.  The chamber orchestra will play a concert of pops music and light classics. The trumpet, percussion and keyboard musicians will join the chamber orchestra on the pops tunes. Some of the classical pieces will include Vivaldi’s “Spring” from The Four Seasons; Mozart’s Eine Kleine Nachtmusik and Bach’s Brandenburg Concerto #3.
